Grosseto, Isola d’Elba, Arezzo, Cortona, Pistoia, Vinci
The tour begins with the arrival in Grosseto and the visit to the Cascate del Mulino, one of the most beautiful places in the Tuscan Maremma, a small kingdom created thanks to the sulphurous thermal waters. Continue towards to Elba Island, the third largest island in Italy, famous around the world for harboring French Emperor Napoleon in 1814 during his exile. A tour of the island is waiting for us, with a stop at Villa San Martino, one of the Napoleonic residences. We continue the discovery of Tuscany, with a visit to Pienza, whose center has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its Renaissance urban design. We continue to one of the main wine-growing areas of Tuscany, Montepulciano, for the visit of the town and for a tasting in a wine cellar. The tour continues with the visit of Arezzo, which in addition to being an extraordinary city of art, is known worldwide as the city of gold. We will discover Sansepolcro, the millenary city founded by the Monks of Camaldoli in 1012, and we will continue towards Cortona for a walk to discover its small shops and its art galleries. We will move to the north, with the town of Fiesole, the favorite place of the Medici family, from which you can enjoy a magnificent view of the city of Florence. We will then continue towards Pistoia, seductive city of ancient foundation, a place that will amaze lovers of art and traditions. Another place awaits us, and it is the beautiful town of Vinci. There are many things to discover here, and many of them are related to the life of Leonardo da Vinci: the house where he was born, the church where he was baptized, and the famous Museo Leonardiano. We will then proceed to the area of Lucca, where we will visit a beautiful historic villa surrounded by a large park.
Departure and goodbye Tuscany.
