An island in a sea of emerald, between small and large coves with white sand: this is Sardinia, an island that amazes the visitor for its natural contrasts, lights and colours, a country of ancient traditions, surrounded by wild nature.
The tour begins with a visit to the ancient city of Cagliari. The famous Barumini nuragic complex, one of the 53 Italian sites listed by UNESCO in the World Heritage List, is a must-see. This site includes the best preserved specimen of all the Sardinian nuraghi, an important testimony of how a prehistoric community was able to use materials and construction techniques of the time. The further on to the Penisola del Sinis, the characteristic peninsula that offers a wild nature and wide solitary beaches used as a natural harbour since the time of the Phoenicians and which houses the ruins of the Phoenician city of Tharros. Another interesting place is the Catalan city of Alghero, with its ancient towers, its walls, its ramparts. On the road to Castelsardo, stop at the “rock of the elephant” shaped by the atmospheric elements with an appearance similar to an elephant. Visit of Castelsardo and its famous domus de janas, prehistoric tombs used for a long time as prison as well as the nuraghe Paddaggiu.
Then your journey continues to Santa Teresa di Gallura, and then by ferry you reach La Maddalena island.
Naturally it’s impossible to come to Sardinia without seeing to the worldwide known Costa Smeralda, with Porto Rotondo, Porto Cervo, holiday resorts of the rich and famous. Leaving the VIP areas, you continue to Nuoro with its historical center full of art and history, and later to Orgosolo, in the heart of the Supramonte, a town that hosts in its streets 150 wall paintings that attract every year the curiosity of thousands of Italian and foreign tourists. In the end return to Cagliari for the departure.
